Dream Home- an oft used term, but sadly, only a few fortunates can actually claim to own one. More often than not people settle for a technical definition of a home and allow the thoughts of an ideal home languish in their dreams only. In the present times, a few simple steps can actually materialize your dreams of realizing, living and indulging your heart out in your very own dream home! Home Decor is one of predominant factors in giving a meaning, personality, style and pump in life into your house and convert it into a home. No wonders therefore, choosing and deciding on the apposite and fitting interior designs is the key to give your house a stamp of your own personality and furnish it with just the right attitude, class, and style. However, one tends to get really confused and puzzled among the huge gamut of color patterns, color schemes, accessories, furniture etc that are available in the market. Billing you out of this bizarre bemusement are the interior designers. Interior Designing, if done badly, gnaws on the complete look, feel, and environment within the house. The designers with a patient ear hear you out and very ably craft the interiors of your home in a way that gives you the happiness of living in a home of your choice and the satisfaction of owning it and that too as per your taste, requirement and budget. An off beam assembly of colors, furniture and accessories would not only result in a major faux pas but would also dent the entity of your home. Interior designers are also safe bets when you are going for unique and personalized themes like a thoroughly romantic bedroom, a dark chocolate color bathroom, a modular kitchen etc. In case you want to renovate your old house as per the latest trends and taste you can always go for home improvement. Office Interior designing places a crucial role in giving a distinct and effective look to any office. Even if one skips employing an interior designer in planning a home, hiring Interior Designers for offices is almost mandatory. Interior designers are the key factors to make effective use of space, time and budget for your office. Creating just the mandatory features of an office is only half the job done. It is also equally important if not more to give it a professional stamp. Irrespective of the fact whether it is big or small, the interior designers create Office Interiors that speaks of professionalism, discipline, and elegance. Every aspect of an office requires minute technical and aesthetic attention and the harmonious blending of the two is what creates an ideal office interior. Most understandably this is one task that is not a layman’s cup of tea and most definitely requires professional supervision. One can go for either readymade or customized office interior designs depending on individual choice, taste and budget.

Investing in Recycled Office Furniture Helps the Environment

The American economic climate has come to a critical point where businesses are looking for new ways to reduce, reuse and recycle in order to become more sustainable and less harmful to the environment. Everyone wants to erase their carbon footprints, and many organizations are amerced in current trends of the social responsibility and ethical investment in environmental causes to help do so. Not every business can afford to adopt corporate sustainability programs as quickly as others, but there are many ways to improve sustainability without breaking another bank. Investing in recycled office furniture is a wonderful way to help the environment by conserving natural resources, energy usage, and reducing solid waste stream and pollution. When you invest in recycled office furniture, fewer raw materials are being used. Remanufacturing conserves energy and overall natural resources. Office furniture recycling extends the life cycle of resources already in circulation, such as aluminum, steel, plastics, fiber and wood. Recycling uses these resources over and over again to the fullest extent possible. Experts in the industry estimate that for each pound of natural resources used through remanufacturing, five to nine pounds of original raw materials are completely conserved. When recycled, the products used in office furniture, as well as the natural resources, are diverted from the solid waste stream. It is estimated that 3 million tons of office furniture are discarded each year. Fabrics in panel systems tend to wear out or the colors become outdated. By remanufacturing the furniture, the fabrics can be replaced and updated. The office furniture will be returned to market for a second life cycle. This results in fewer products filling up landfill space and ruining the environment. Recycling office furniture conserves energy used for labor and manufacturing. The amount of labor and energy required to remanufacture furniture is 85 to 95 percent less than what is required to produce a new product. Since the recycled furniture has already been manufactured, remanufacturing saves an enormous amount of energy required for production. Especially when metals are involved and are kept out of the re-smelting process. Recycling reduces pollution caused by manufacturing furniture, which initially adds dangerous amounts of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulfur oxides, nitrous oxides, volatile organic compounds, and particulate matter into the environment. By reducing the amounts of these contaminants, global warming, acid rain, smog and other forms of air pollution will be reduced. Businesses are always searching for new ways to become more sustainable and less harmful to the environment. However, they don™t always have the budget for corporate-wide green initiatives. There are ways to reduce company™s carbon footprint, without ripping up the budget. Invest In Good Reception Furniture And Create A Good First Impression

For many people, the importance of good impression has often been stressed at the different stages of their lives. The statement ‘The first impression last’ has been said and heard, from the time one is still very young and about to attend his or her first children’s party to adulthood, when one is for a job interview, attending another party, or meeting someone for the first time. Many failures and successes depend on that split second when the first impression is formed and usually, there is no second chance to rectify a bad impression. What gives the other person or the public the kind of first impression about anyone or anything? Usually, it is whatever immediately catches the senses. So, it could be the first taste, smell, texture, appearance or sound. First impression is so important that it is not surprising to know that some people invest time, effort and money just to learn how to make a good impression in their personal and /or business endeavors. In a business, it is the office reception area that gives a first impression about the company. The reception area is the first part of an office that visitors see, that investing in good reception furniture is a good business decision. A good set of reception furniture would cost more than a mediocre one but the investment is worth it if one considers the following: – Cheap and ugly reception furniture may turn off discriminating clients and they my ask themselves, ‘Am I in the right place?’. Business owners /managers should bear in mind that the choosy and discriminating clients are those who can afford to pay. – Cheap furniture are usually not well designed for comfort. The users feel tired before the working day ends. Poor design also result to inefficiency because it is more likely that the equipment at the reception desk are not located within easy reach of the receptionist. – Good reception furniture gives an impression that the business owner/manager has the financial means to support their good taste. Another impression would be that the business is doing well financially. – Suppliers and service providers would want to do business with a business which has the capability to pay their goods and services. A good set of reception furniture would help give the business a positive image financially. – Working with a good set of reception furniture would give the receptionist a sense of pride and consequently, would do her job well. The other employees would also be proud that they part of an impressive company. A first impression is not always true, in the same way that the reception area is not enough basis to judge a business. But in many cases, the impression in the reception area is the basis whether the client would like to go further in negotiating with the business owners until the deal is closed or end the negotiation before it even began

  • Interior Design for the Home Office – Part 1 of a 4-Part Series – by

Interior Design for the Home Office – Part 1 of a 4-Part Series

The home office is a topic that can easily start a heated discussion among almost any group of people. Opinions aside for now, home-based businesses have grown tremendously in number over the last decade, and with some careful planning there is no reason why a home office cannot be productive and successful.Home offices and home-based businesses have unjustly faced a bad reputation in the past. Mental images of some one working in their pyjamas with dirty laundry and dishes piled high around them are gratefully fading from people’s minds and being replaced with a more professional image.Just like an ordinary office, your home office has to work for you and your clients. And the first step (which also happens to be the most important) is location.Usually when this is said people’s reactions are, “But I have no other space!” A little creativity, and possibly some rearranging, can likely prove you wrong. Let’s face it: if there is one unused space in your home, it is probably the least practical space in your home. The most important factors in choosing the location within your home for your office are:> Will clients (or other business contacts) be invited to your office?> Is there a high activity lever in your home? Children bustling about or frequent houseguests from out of town?> Is the space/room you are considering a suitable size to meet the needs of your office without being too small or too large?A few further points to consider:> Your office must have a window.> If the washroom is down a hall and up a flight of stairs, the location is no good.> At times you will want to be able to close your office. Either you will be entertaining or just not wanting to think about work or your office for a while. Make sure you somehow have this opportunity, whether it be walls and a door; a curtain, screen, or partition; an accordian-style room divider…> Don’t rule out a room because it currently lacks something you will need. Telephone jacks and Internet cables can be put in, as can better lighting, electrical outlets, etc…> Your office does not have to occupy an entire room.If you have children, no matter their ages, do not even think about locating your office in a nook off the playroom or in a relatively open space somewhere between the living room and kitchen. Even young children can quickly be taught to knock before entering your office, and to only enter with your permission. Distractions are the most common complaint of home-office workers, so pay extra attention to make them less likely, and less time-consuming.If your office will allow visitors, try to locate yourself near a door. Not only is there a chance that your home may not be as tidy as you would wish, but you won’t necessarily want every visitor to get an in depth look into your personal life. When I say near a door, it can be the front door, a secondary door located at the front or side of your home, or even the garage door if you have the luxury of a garage that does not resemble a neglected storage facility. When giving visitors your address, clearly state, “Please ring the doorbell at the door located next to the garage door.” or the door that applies if it is not the principal door to your home. A simple way to minimize the number of people who may have to walk through your home is to use a space/room that backs onto or abuts the interior entry. There is a good chance that creating a door directly from the entry into your office will be a fairly simple alteration.Depending on your profession, you should be looking at different spaces in your home. A translator, for instance, can easily turn a closet into an office! All you would have to do is remove all shelves and clothes rods, have outlets installed on the back wall of the closet, plaster & paint, slide a standard-sized desk (not an L-shape) in, hang some shelves above the desk to store supplies and books, and voila! You’re all set. An artist, on the other hand, would not be able to transform a typical closet into a studio no matter how creative (s)he may be. A lot of people find this very hard to believe, but if your office is much larger than what you really need, it will be more prone to clutter and disorganization. Who can resist the idea of leaving a pile of folders on a chair to file later? If you don’t have the extra space, you’ll find yourself doing the filing promptly. At the same time, if your space is really too small you may find yourself trying to store certain items in other rooms of your home, and that is another way to quickly become disorganized.Look for Part 2 of this series: Interior Layout & Set-up for the Home Office.Karen S. Innovations In Systems Office Furniture

Research has shown that the function, comfort, and style of a workplace are all significant factors in creating a more productive office environment. An ideal office space has a large desk, ample storage that minimizes clutter, and a functional design that allows easy access to various objects at an employee’s disposal. Its style must be compatible with the job, customized to its user’s preferences, and streamlined for technological relevance. Modern innovations in systems office furniture have facilitated the widespread availability and affordability of customized, comfortable and functional office spaces. This ultimately leads to greater office morale and productivity. One of the most important innovations in systems furniture has been the “movable wall system.” Whereas in the past the layout of an office revolved around the drywalls that separated each room, those walls can now be replaced by a paneled system to be configured as private offices, meeting rooms, and lounge areas, easily adjustable to the particular needs of the office. The functionality of these systems is supreme. They are customizable to the exact layout preferences of any individual office while providing necessary features like lighting, heating, ventilating and air conditioning through system elements and internet cables to be routed invisibly through posts and beams. Within these walls, businesses are also capable of using different types of systems that are very flexible, modular, and therefore adjustable to fit any type of office job. Storage-based office design, for example, uses storage, rather than panels, as the core of the office space so that the enclosure of an office is built with organization as its primary purpose. The modular design provides a unified look that is highly customizable. Systems generally have a base unit module with different combinations of drawers, files, and shelves. They can be added onto with storage units as well as panels and screens with attachable work surfaces. These systems eliminate the need for wall panels, overhead storage bins, and floor pedestals, maximizing legroom and overall office space. They also allow plenty of room to store and organize files as well as having quick and easy access to them. Furniture systems are built to be versatile, flexible, and highly technologically-compatible. Their base panels are constructed for copper and fiber-optic friendly wiring, which are completely invisible to the exterior. Panels can be configured to the particular needs of the firm, whether aligned in a row to accommodate workers side-by-side, or set up to enclose an individual work space. They can also be affixed with modular cabinets and other various storage options. With flexibility in mind, this type of system is best for a business that is constantly growing and changing. In addition, screen based systems can be used to complement these panels. Screen panels are built highly mobile, often with wheels, transluscent, and tend to be lower in height. They contribute to a more inviting, open, and natural environment while still serving as partitions to give employees a sense of privacy and personal space. Innovations in systems furniture allow businesses to customize workspaces that best suits the needs of individual employees and their job responsibilities. These same innovations also enable businesses more control of an ideal working environment that is functional, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing. Taking design as the most important aspect of the development process, MAiSPACE invested in a professional in-house design support team that will provide you and your designer with the best and most cost effective layout, not only to satisfy your current staffing demands, but also to help you plan ahead. Our designers understand your facility issues and employ the most appropriate product applications. By using the latest version of AutoCAD and GIZA specifying software, our furniture plans are virtually fault free. Project time frames are critical and we ensure your satisfaction with a promise for quick turnarounds and timely resolutions to your changes.

  • In Search For Comfort at the Workplace – by

In Search For Comfort at the Workplace

When looking for big and tall office side chairs, it is often suggested that you strive to look for comfort first before the styling. Most people tend to choose having office side chairs that can complement the looks and style of an office setting. Beauty is first being considered in choosing the best office side chairs around.Putting beauty first before comfort may lead to poor buying decisions at times. This holds true with these office side chairs. Beauty and style of an office chair design do not usually equate to a comfortable seating experience. Some office chairs may truly look stunning in terms of design, but they may not be able to provide users with better seating spaces. In choosing these chairs, comfort should first be given priority before style. That way, office efficiency can even be maintained. We all know that the office is a place of much activity and stress. Employees working there already have to go through quite a lot when it comes to handling stress. Making the office as comfortable and as ideal for the working employee can do a lot in trying to lessen some of the office stress.A way of trying to make the office more comfortable is by having good office furniture. Office furniture such as these chairs can provide employees as well as office visitors with some kind of comfort that may help lessen overall stress in the workplace. People who find themselves comfortable are more likely to work better. So when in the hunt for buying big these types of chairs, it is always better to look for comfortable designs. And mind you, comfortable design in office chairs usually means better back support. The best office chairs available today are those that offer sufficient back support for the user. That is why there are now a number of office chairs available that provide quite a number of different features for the user. These features are not so much just to make such office chairs more saleable, they are added in order to provide users with a more customized and comfortable seating experience. Not all people might be of the same body type, let alone body size and structure. And since this is the case, most people require different seating configurations in order to be comfortable. The adjustability features of most office chairs today aim to address these varied seating configurations for different types of people.Whether you are looking for single portable office chair or big and tall office side chairs, it is always important to have comfort always in mind. It is also good to look for stylishness in some of the designs for office furniture that you are checking out. But don’t let it take priority over the comfort that you aim to provide for both your employees as well as your valued clients. Beauty in design may just come and go. Different trends would lead to different design and style choices. It can suddenly change that can lead to having your beauty inspired office design suddenly becoming out of style. But the need for comfort never changes. It would always remain a constant requirement in general office design. Always remember to place comfort up and above aesthetic beauty and style.Rajesh Karavadia is the author and webmaster of a website about lazy boy leather office chairs and office furniture allsteel chairsArticle Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Rajesh_Karavadia
